Irrespective of your political approach or professing religion, you and your family surely have some kind of traditions. They are phenomenon which escort everybody, therefore keeping them is an extensive topic for social debate.
Firstly, traditions enrich family history and empower ties. A collective celebrating Christmas, Easter or other holiday in the traditional way is an excellent occasion for meet up with our relatives, be cordial and sociable for each other. It also gives us a lot of pleasant remembrances. Futhermore, traditions can add a deeper meaning to what would otherwise be an ordinary activity. For instance, thanks to traditions, the wedding and the wedding reception are unforgettable event.
Despite of the fact that traditions have positive sides, they have also a negative some (?). To begin with, a lot of traditions, which are continuing at present, are terrible and even stomach-churning. I hope that crippling, flagellating and tormenting won’t be keeping as a tradition and even will be permitted as soon as possible. Moreover, very often traditions refuse to evolve with the times and they quickly become restrictive and discriminatory. For example, in former times matrimonies used to be arranged by parents, usually for money or other benefits, like political placement. Currently, keeping that tradition would injure young people.
As a young liberal, I belive we should stop looking back and keeping traditions which actually circumscribe and work against us. The world is our oyster and we have to working life to the full without worry about the future.
