Proszę o sprawdzenie prezentacji. Przez 2 lata nie miałem kontaktu z językiem dlatego wszystko pisałem "na czuja".

1. With the first chapter (baisc legal terms) we have learned basic meanings, which are an integral part of our study. our exercises have based on four key concepts: JURY - group of people who are selected and sworn to inquire into matters of fact and to reach a verdict on the basis of the evidence presented to them. DEFENDANT - a party in lawsuit accused of a wrongdoing. JUDGE – person who controls the proceedings in a courtroom and decides. ATTORNEY - a person who speak on behalf of her clients.
2. while in the second chapter we have expanded our knowledge of the essential concepts of legal terminology eg. SETTLE - resolve a lawsuit without a final court judgment by negotiation between the parties. DAMAGES – for example the amount of money which a plaintiff may be awarded in a lawsuit. APPEAL - ask a higher court to reverse the decision of a trial court after final judgment TRIAL and PROOF .
3. With third chapters have expanded our vocabulary of concepts of LEGAL RESOURCES. We colud divide legal reources on primary materials – text containt laws relevant to cases. And secondary materials like LEGAL ENCYCLOPEDIAS, ( which ofen cite primary sources in their REFERENCESE), DIGESTS (summerize indvidual cases), FORM BOOK( which show how documents should be worded and formatted) and COMPUTERIZED DATABASE.
4. In the fourth chapter, we focused on discussing issues of SOURCES OF LAW. we identified five key issues: CONSTITUTIONAL LAW , STATE LAW , STATUTE, COURT RULES and LEGISLATION
5. About PRELIMINARY DOCUMENTS we learned from the fifth chapter. Our vocabulary we supplemented with terms like MEDICAL RECORDS, CORRESPONDENCE, POLICE REPORT, FEE AGREEMENT and AGENDA
6. Additionally, in the sixth chapter expanded linguistic knowledge about important in our education administrative concepts of COURT STRUCTURE. In the United State we divide DISTRICT COURT – there are general court. COURT OF APPEALS - is empowered to hear an appeal of a trial lower court, STATE COURT - these courts decide dispute that pertain to state law, THE SUPERME COURT - is the highest court within the hierarchy of many legal jurisdictions. This is only appeals court that operates under discretionary review and SPECIALIZED COURT like BANKRUPTCY COURT and TAX COURT.
7. In order to improve our knowledge could not miss the chapter associated with JURISDICTION which is is authority to judge legal matters . We focused mainly on discussing issues related to PERSONAL JURISDICTION – is authorithy over a person, TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION – is authorithy over an area, SUBJECT JURISDICTION – is authority over particular subject.
8. As future administrators we had to introduced into our vocabulary of the vocabulary relating to Courtroom eg. COURT REPORTER - is a person whose occupation is recorded speech into written form of court hearings, CLERK OF THE COURT - is an officer of the court whose responsibilities include maintaining the records of a court, JURY BOX - an enclosure where the jury sit in court.
9. In front of the last chapter we devoted time to learn vocabulary related COURT PROCESS. It has been discussed such issues as: PRE-TRIAL HEARING - a formal meeting between the two parties in a case and the judge before the trial begins, HUNG JURY – a jury that is unable to agree on a verdict , ARRAIGNMENT - a criminal proceeding at which the defendant is officially called before a court of competent jurisdiction, , DISCOVERY- the act, process, or an instance of discovering , PLEA BARGAIN - negotiation between the defendant and his attorney on one side and the prosecutor on the other, in which the defendant agrees to plead "guilty" or "no contest" to some crimes , and SENTENCED.
In the last chapter we talked and we have expanded our dictionary of importance in the field COURT ETIQUETTE. When you appear in the courtroom you have to stand up when clerk says “all rise” because the Judge enters the courtroom. You sworm in by the clerk. Under oath you can’t lie because you can charged with perjury. You have to address the judge as YOUR HONOR and you cannont approach THE BENCH. Only lawyer are allowed to enter THE WELL when they talk to jugde off the records.
