past continous czy past simple

Mam kilka wątpliwości, co do zastosowania past continous w poniższym zdaniu:

"She thinks that there is an old owner of castle who was living there in the XI century"

- czyż nie poprawniej byłoby: " who lived there in the XI century" ???

I jeszcze jedna wątpliwość:

- czy poprawna jest taka konstrukcja zdania: " the ghost of the old owner of the castle" ???

Bardzo proszę o pomoc głębiej wtajemniczonych.

Poprawniej.
Ale logiczne to cale zdanie nie bardzo jest.
She thinks that the castle is haunted by its owner who lived there in the eleventh century. (albo in the 11th century).

Poprawna, ale za dużo "of's" w zdaniu. Źle się to czyta i źle brzmi.
