Hi,

I've got a sentence:

"'Isn't there something we can do?' Emily pleads, getting so impatient with the accelerator that I think for a minute she's going to pull U-y and head stright back to The Strip."

I don't know what "U-y" is... I can't find it anywhere, in any dictionary... Same is with "pit-stop" and "let's floor it!". I'd be grateful if somebody would explain it to me.
pit stop
1. an occasion when a driver in a race stops for a few seconds to get fuel or let people repair the car
2. /MAINLY AMERICAN/ a short stop during a long car ride, in order to get food or use a toilet
