The Passion of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson is a fascinating and moving drama. It is set on the Italy in Rome. This film, is a serious, often brutally powerful film on the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus - is a passionate but gruesomely physical picture. But it's a subject that needs more spirituality and transcendence, at least to move us in the
way director-writer-producer Gibson so obviously wants.
The pacing of the story is beautifully measured. The intercutting between Jesus' early years, the Last Supper, the Sermon on the Mount, and the final hours of his life not only flesh out the story, but also offer relief from the unrelenting violence in scene after scene graphically displaying the torture leading up to Christ's agonizingly slow death on the cross.
All the actors, especially James Caviezel and Maia Morgenstern, are excellent. Film possesses excellent special effects as also of a sound which hold up our emotion to finish of film.
