Hi Cebulka,

I looked that thing up and it\'s interesting! But see, food is MY domain and I wasn\'t expecting YOU to suggest anything curry or anything pudding. This is what I do best... talking about it and stuffing my chops with it. Shouldn\'t that be a \"curry pudding\" instead of \"pudding curry?\"
Curry is huge in every East Indian household...(and restaurants, of course - goes without saying) In fact, it\'s so big that the real estate business had to be divided into selling houses to the whites and selling house to the East Indians. East Indian homes reek of curry and not too many whites are brave enough to move into a house that smells curry for years to come. Same in England?
I was also wondering if the East Indian food is as popular as Chinese food in England? Maybe not because of the ties that England has always had with India...? Am I right?
we have a name for East Indian food here... we call it a \"rag head food\" (shhhhh...) and eventhough we have millions of East Indian immigrants living in Canada, we don\'t seem to like their food as much. Interesting....

Ever tried a curry pudding?... :/

:)

Hi sk8ter87,
mmmm...pork chops.... chops, (home made) chips and beans....

Yesterday, we had roast lamb for dinner ... mmm .... yorkshire puds...my favourite….

Apologies Sk8ter, didn’t mean to trespass … :o) Instead of talking food I will just busy myself eating it. Actually, I am scoffing in a jam doughnut right now :o)

As to Indian, it’s very popular over here. It’s popularity peaks especially after heavy drinking sessions. It is then, when drunken male species all of a sudden decide that their Vindaloo requires extra chillies.

Another interesting fact for you: see the link below.

http://www.currypages.com/dishglossary.aspx?dish=Tikka+Masala

Brits like THEIR curries ;o)

Curry pudding? - sounds lethal... never heard of it

Smell-wise, I personally think that living in a flat above a chippy would do my head in.

:o)
me
I was thinking a lot about why East Indian food is SO popular in Britain...and I think I know now. Anything but British food is an improvement! Do you think I am right?....all it needs is some salt and pepper or curry and things are totally different.
In anycase, camel jocks make for the worst drivers in our country...next to the Chinese (\"chinks\")...two things can happen when you drive - you are either behind a pun (punjab) teenager or one that\'s 160 year old ...This translates into two scenarios: one drives 30 km an hour, the other 230km an hour. One passes you like you\'re not even moving while the other one stands at a green light for 20 minutes before he decides to proceed. I had a few of those guys stop in front of me and I heard someone call out to one of them: \"Hey, are you waiting for a different shade of green!!!?\"

A lot of \"fun\".
You didn\'t say much about the Chinese food. Any decent Chinese restaurants in Liverpool?

:)

have to run....
One more question Cebulka! Hope it\'s not too much for one day!
How about the East Indian houses in Britain? Do they like big houses good for say 4-5 families? East Indians here just love BIG homes and I found out that the idea is not as stupid as one might think. They buy a huge home and take a mortgage for say...800 thousand dollars. If you move in with all your ants and uncles, nephews, cousins ( about 15 if its a small family) and what have you...you can have your mortgage paid off within three or four years tops since there is a lot of income under one roof. Once it\'s all paid off the younger generation takes off on their own and buy their own homes.... it IS pretty smart - that is, if you don\'t mind having no privacy.
And I am telling you, those homes are MEGA HUGE and they make Taj Mahal look like a dog house....
Anyway...just wondering.

:)
Sorry for the delay, people to see, champagne to drink... my friends have just got back from their honeymoon... :o)

Chinese you say, mmmm…. pigs’ ears…interesting experience… There is one restaurant here in Waterloo (part of L’pool) that does best sui mai I have ever had a chance to eat. I have already written about Manchester\'s Japanese. ;o) so I am not going to expand on this...

I have heard about a scam that involves... \"martwe dusze\"... claiming support for people who do not exist. However, the masters of deception are Brits themselves. I know many people who slag other nations off (for taking advantage), and at the same time they claim social (manual workers) and work as builders; or they (teachers and social workers) claim single person\'s allowance and have a steady income provided by their loggers. You can easily recognise them in a pub; they are the loudest and most obnoxious individuals. Most of them haven\'t paid more Tax in one year than I in one month, bunch of useless morons. There is one pub here in Waterloo that if you gathered all men, their yearly tax, taken all together, would be less than what I pay in one month. You should hear them what crap they come up with... \"all these people from Poland and other countries will be coming here and abusing OUR benefit system\"... the only thing they are concerned about is that it\'s going to be more difficult for them to abuse the system... Seriously, when I hear arguments like these I feel like punching their lights out! Anyways... enough of this rant; how are you?
:o)

PS: correct the mistakes if you could :o)
Sk8ter, Indian food is indeed popular in Britain. When you go to London, you will see plenty of Indian restaurants which offer one of the best things you can eat on the Earth. It\'s spicy (not slightly spicy and just spicy but often incredibly hot!) and very tasty. I lived for almost 6 months with two Hindu guys in a tiny flat and many times had a chance to try their stuff and believe me or not, it was awesome. I recommend trying Chicken Biryini(not sure about the spelling). I could tell you some more about the way they behaved for instance, which for me was a real surprise. It seemed to me that one of them was the boss and the other was his servant, even though they both were great friends! At least so they were saying. Cool people but on the other hand sometimes it was difficult to persuade them something or reach some agreement. If you want I can tell you some more about them.
I think those things happen almost everywhere and we are certainly not an exception when it comes to fraudulent income tax claims, identity theft problems and many many others. I don\'t think it\'s a nation wide problem, though, in the sense that it\'s gotten completely out of hand. The society is so heavily set up with computers nowadays that it becomes more and more difficult to assume someone\'s name or cheat on your income tax return or scam the credit company. But it\'s true, people still get caught all the time even though it\'s not worth it in the long run. We got criminals like you guys, we have welfare bums and drug addicts living off a crummy monthly income because they are too f.....lazy to find a job. Our prison system is full to the hilt as probably yours is too.

PIG EARS? I have never seen pig ears on the menu before but I guess I could always request them ahead of time...
Are you getting excited about your trip to Poland? Is your hubby excited as well????? I bet you will have a ball!
I am falling asleeeeeep at the keyboard..hope your day goes OK.
Talk to you soon. :)

PS I like curry too but only the mild version and on a chicken :)
Oh, sure, that would be great! I like little stories like that. Thanx for the info!
Last time I was in London, I worked for the BBC English Language Summer School in West London (Hampstead College) but at that time the Britts weren\'t all that crazy about the East Indian food.
It\'s getting late and I am beat....talk to you tomorrow!
(btw. I don\'t have anything against the Punjubs and Hindus but the white population does NOT mix very well with them and we try to stay out of each other\'s way...IYKWIM).

:)

i co w nim znaczy to wyrażenie \"and what have you\"?
spotkałam się z nim czytając książkę \"About a boy\" Nicka Hornby,
a nie było tego nigdzie w gramatykach wyjaśnionego.
wyjaśni ktoś?
Oh Lord, what a typo...AUNTS (not ants)....however, it should be noted that you can move into a new place with all your relatives plusall the ANTS AND COCKROACHES if you so desire...makes for an interesting cohabitation...
:)

można to przetłumaczyć: \"i cała reszta\", \"i co tam jeszcze\"
Where are you Cebulka?
A bit of a hangover from last night maybe...?
Take care!
I hope I didn\'t scare you off with the pig ears thing.?...
Question for when you come back here?....sui mai question...have you ever tried making Chinese dumplings yourself? I have...and they came out great!!!!! My favorite ones are pork dumplings (no pig ears!)! Yummies!!!!!
I have also perfected deep fried prawns and beef in black been sauce....oh, mercy Lord!.....I am drooling on the keyboard right now.....!!!!

Have a nice week-end!
I\'m here :o)

I have to admit, I felt a bit fragile today.

As to pig ears, a friend of mine, Chinese guy, invited some of his friends to a restaurant for dim sum one day. I had things I had never tried before. Pig ears were one of them. I vaguely remember SEEING deep fried chicken legs in batter on a plate (not my plate, though). I haven\'t tried to perform any traditional oriental cooking with all the proper spices and weird ingredients, so I have never tried making sui mai myself, but I am sure I would make a right pig\'s ear out of it. ;o) However, I was adventurous and bought Patak\'s cookery book. It\'s collecting dust very nicely :o) Back to Chinese, I like shredded beef in chilli sauce....my stomach is rumbling and there is nothing in the fridge.... a bar of chocolate will have to do.

:o)
A little \"fragile\".... ? I love that word here! Let\'s just face it, Cebulka, you got schmockered big time and I bet your husband had to carry you inside the house because you were SO gassed you wouldn\'t have found your way back if your life depended on it.
That\'s OK...nothing to be ashamed of....we all like our occasioanl drink and getting hammered once in a while. Don\'t be shy....I had some of MY infamous moments too...not exactly something I plan on sharing with others...
I have tons of cook books at home and I use many of them.
If you want, I will tell you tomorrow how to make deep fried prawns ...nice and crispy...deep fried meat always needs a good batter and there is a little trick to it. Will tell you more tomorrow.

:)
I am waiting in anticipation :o)
well I mix with Hindu especially with one :)
still waiting...
;o)
Good. We are an open society here and I hope I didn\'t put a foot in mouth by certain comments as there was no harm intended. We have every possible nationality living here in this huge country and I hope no one took what I said too seriously....
:)
no don\'t worry, i would say a lot more about them both good and bad things, and about the food i think its delicious, but my bf cant cook :( they are very different than we are and the biggest problem is that im focused on presence and this is the most important for me, and he thinks too much about future and is postponing many important decisions as in his culture man is the one who earns money and takes all the responsibility for family..
Good!!! I was already thinking I should bite my tounge next time when expressing certain opinions or coming up with jokes...you just don\'t know who\'s on the other side...
Right on my street I have two Korean families living next to me, one Vietnamese next to them and the rest all Cocaision (?spel).
Glad you didn\'t take offence at this... :)

Some of the East Indians are so handsome. Ever heard of Russel Peters?
:)
I mean that\'s what women tell me.....he, he, he :)
about handsom indians.... i cant agree with you almost all which ive met and i met many were short and skinny ... aha and moustache ... so rather not handsom in common opinion, fortunatelly my bf is tall and well-built :D
aha and as far as i know the biggest diference is between southern and northen indians its based on their history
A ja nie wiem, o co Wam kurwa wszystkim chodzi, ja jem puding z bita smietana i tez jest zajebisty, po co sie tu spierac...?
to jest to samo co "and what not" czyli właśnie "i cała reszta"
