Witam. Mam pytanie dlaczego w tym zdaniu jest czas present perfect simple a nie past simple skoro jest podany ten weekend .I have eaten a lot of Italian dishes this week.

Gdyby pojawiło się "last week" to wtedy byłby Past Simple a czasownik główny byłby w drugiej formie "ate"

Why would you say "I have eaten… done this.., seen a lot of…this week, today, now,…?" instead of "I ate…did…saw a lot of…this week, today, now"?
What is this stupid present perfect thing for after all?
Ask your English teacher all those questions. They must earn their keep. If they don't know the answers, fire them. The lot of them.
