LIST
Your friend is unemployed. He is thinking of joining the military and has asked you for some infromation and advice. Write him a letter about good and bad points of being in the military. Also, say why you think your friend makes/doesn’t make a good candidate.

Hi John,
I’m writing to thank you for your last letter. I’m sad to hear that you are uneployed but I’m pleased that you are thinking of being military. I try to give some good and bad aspects of joining to the army.
Firstly you should know that at the beggining of career in the army you will often serve. So you will have little time for your family and hobbies. Also ,you will have little time to carry out orders so you have to deal with stress.
Secondly, you won’t have to worry about of beign sacked. You will sign a contract for some years and you only could lose your job of commit a crime. The army also gives ways to be promoted and to increase your skills. You will be send for some courses.
In my opinion you could be a soldier because of your patience and brillance.
I hope that I solved all your questions.say hello to your wife. Write to me as soon as possible.
Best wishes
