Lately studying abroad has become more and more popular. Nowadays many Polish students go to Great Britain to
take study up (podjąć studia). It certainly has its positive and negative aspects.
First and foremost the lectures are in English so Polish students practise one of the most common language in the world every day. In future it will help them to communicate with foreigners. What is more, they do not learn the English which is spoken daily but also the specific words, phrases in English which includes technical, informatics or medical English (depends on what they are studying) which often is not teach at Polish universities.
What is more young man which is flying out to another country does not have the possibility to come back home too often. It is very expensive trip so sometimes he must stay six months or whole year before he visits his home again. By that time he has got the opportunity to learn some responsibility for himself. No one is standing above him and keep an eye on him to make sure that he did his homework, he studied, he is not hungry or he brushed his teeth. He is on his own. He has to take care of himself. Is not
it/that the best way to grow up?
On the other side the fresh student is only nineteen sometimes twenty years old. It is still a teenager which flew out of the parents nest. It is often difficult for someone to study in another city
a co dopiero in another country? Young student can feel lost and lonely without his friends nearby. He can easily get into bad company only because he wanted to forget about
homesickness/nostalgia.
Every young man should make a good list of advantages and disadvantages as there are many of them. Mostly they are unnoticed because they are overshadowed by the vision of great adeventure.
