More and more high schools offer choice of subjects which senior-class students will study. Of course there are much faults and advantages of that idea. But what is better, to know much about few things or know few about much things?
Lot of students will choose easy (for them) subjects, because they don’t want to study hard. For that reason, if someone choose logical disciplines as Math, he (or she) won’t know who is Henryk Sienkiewicz or Andrzej Kmicic. It is short-sighted thinking, because if someone from humanistic class without Geography go to virgin grounds and lose his smartphone, there is no possibility to find a way to home (or the nearest village).
It’s not all. People must communicate, must converse. But if we won’t know just a little of every disciplines, we will could talk only with people, who studied our subjects. We won’t meet new friends, we will be lonely.
However, that choice is very practical. We will study just subjects we are good in, we like. Maybe then nobody say: I hate Polish, I hate Math. Maybe we will study with smile on a face.
When we learn about things we like and we need, we will get focus on that disciples… We won’t have to read History if we have an biology exam next day. For ages people specialise in specialist spheres, for example, in manufactures.
Humans are organisms, which never become quite happy, there will be always something wrong for somebody. I think, it’s a good way to give young people choice, because then no one could say: I don’t like it.
