More and more families are deciding to educate their children at home. In my opinion it has as many strong as weak points.
To begin with, one of the main advantages of homeschooling is an individual approach which helps with developing your child’s abilities and overcome learning difficulties at weaker areas. Problems and talents of a child is often overlooked because of the class overcrowding.
On the other hand, school is a place when lifelong friendships are being made. A child, who is separated from their coevals, is lonely and has problem with co-operating in a group.
The next con is that at school children are learning how to cheat. When they are not prepared for an exam they prefer writing a crib note to being laughed out of court and having to get through boring material once more.
We cannot forget that school is a place when children learn how to deal with stress. They learn how to overcome it by being under an exam pressure. It is essential in adult life especially at work.
Many supporters of homeschooling indicate that it helps them with coordinating their children religious and moral education. In school a child is very often force to attending in religion lesson in order to not being rejected by majority.
Last but not least sending children to school guarantee their parents free time to realize their own purposes and work. If they want to be certain that their child is treated properly, they send they to private school.
To sum up, in my opinion those two options are balanced and the choice depends on an individual home conditions.
