Nowadays more and more governments decide to build highways in their countries. It is a great chance to increase the development of the country. However, it can be dangerous for the environment. Let's examine both pros and cons of them.
On the one hand building highways may increase the communication standard. Transport is faster and more comfortable. Furthermore economy of the country often gets better, because many people choose highways even if they have to pay for using them. Last but not least, citizens contentment increase because many of them feel proud of living in the more developed country.
On the other hand, building highways has the certain drawbacks about which people tend to forget about. Firstly, the investment may be very expensive. For example, many money would be spend on the roads instead of health care or education. Secondly, some inhabitants might lose their fields and also be disturbed by noise of the vehicles. Apart from these, pollution goes up and condition of the environment gets worse.
On balance, building highways has as many positive sides as disadvantages. The decision should remain a matter of particular country's choice, after a deep analise of its condition.
