Dear Mum,

At the beginning I would like to thank you for your letter. Tomek and me hurt for you so much and every your letter is something wonderfully important for us. It didn’t change a lot of at us but I want to tell you about our new friend – Karol. Above all his life changed so much within several last days. Many persons hadn’t would thought that he would be our friend. He isn’t in our age and he belongs to upper-class moreover. Karol is the gardener and he referees in the gardens competitions. He likes and is familiar with flowers. He’s the good, benevolent man, who helped us. We probably helped him in something too...

Droga mamo !
Na początku chciałabym Ci podziękować za Twój list. Ja i Tomek bardzo za tobą tęsknimy i każdy list od Ciebie jest dla nas czymś niezwykle ważnym.
Wiele się u nas nie zmieniło lecz chciałabym opowiedzieć Ci o naszym nowym przyjacielu – Karolu. To przede wszystkim jego życie bardzo się zmieniło w ciągu ostatnich kilku dni. Wiele osób nie pomyślałoby że on mógłby być naszym przyjacielem. Nie jest w naszym wieku a poza tym należy do wyższej sfery.
On jest ogrodnikiem i zajmuje się sędziowaniem w konkursach ogrodniczych, bardzo lubi i zna się na kwiatach. To dobry, życzliwy człowiek, który bardzo nam pomógł. My chyba też mu w czymś pomogliśmy...

He isn't in our age and apart from that he belongs to the upper-class.

Chociaż mam niewielką pewnośc co do zdania z 'Wieloma ludźmi którzy nie pomyśleli by nawet o tym, że mógby być waszym przyjacielem.' ;)

I tak dziękuję Ci bardzo serdecznie. Może mg albo engee wpadnie to nas poprawi jeśli coś nadal jest źle. Dziękuję !

staraj sie uzywac formy 'I' po 'and', jezeli 'I' wchodzi w sklad podmiotu zdania (Tomek and I); jezeli byloby to dopelnienie, to forma 'me' jest OK; np. They like Tomek and me.

'miss you' lub 'long for you'

{It didn't change a lot of at us}...
raczej 'Nothing has changed for us', lub zeby zachowac pojecie 'a lot', 'Things haven't changed much for us' ('much' czesciej wystepuje w zdaniach przeczacych niz 'a lot')

It's mainly his life that has changed so much in the last several days.

{Many persons} {hadn't would thought that he would be} our friend.
'Many persons + not' to zbyt formalne uzycie, 'Not many people'
...would think that he could be...

He isn't {in} our age...
bez 'in', lub 'He isn't the same age as we are' lub 'He isn't as young/old as we are'

...and he belongs {to upper-class moreover}.
...and, besides, he belongs to the upper class. ('moreover' znow byloby za mocne)

Karol is {the} gardener...
'the' z pojeciem zawodu uzyjesz tylko wowczas, kiedy bedzie mowa o okreslonej osobie w danej firmie, lub kiedy obie strony beda wiedzialy, o kim jest mowa;
Karol is a gardener...

...and he {referees in the gardens competitions}.
...and he judges in garden competitions. ('the' jest w tym zdaniu zbyteczne, no chyba, ze mama zna wszystkie szczegoly dotyczace Karola)

He's the good, benevolent man, who helped us.
bez przecinka po 'man'
He's the good, benevolent man who helped us.

...helped him {in} something too...
...helped him with something too...

Jejuś engee strasznie dziękuję ! Ogromną pracę wykonałaś dla mnie. Serdecznie Ci dziękuję. Siedzę nad tym dziś calutki dzien i to dla mnie strasznie ważne więc każda pomoc jest dla mnie bardzo cenna. Dziękuję jeszcze raz.

jeszcze kilka uwag do tego, co napisal wiciu-piciu:

mozesz zastosowac forme ciagla 'missing you' lub 'longing for you' aby podkreslic, iz jest to bardzo mocna tesknota za kims

te ponizsze zdania tez sa OK
..he likes it very much and he knows a lot about flowers.
We have propably helped him WITH something too... (ten czas nawet bardziej pasuje do listu relacjonujacego tego, co sie stalo)

Czyli można by było napisać 'wouldn't have thought' gdyby użycie było trochę bardziej formalne? :) Czy to ma coś wspólnego z Conditionalami?

to nie chodzi o forme, ale o Conditionale
