She was lying in bed when she heard a sudden noise. She opened her eyes in horror. Someone opened a downstairs window; they were trying to get into her house. She climbed slowly out of bed and crept to the door. She was standing very still and listening carefully when she saw a light downstairs. It was moving about as if someone was holding a torch and searching something. She knew that they were looking for her.
