The Pianist was directed by the legendary Roman Polanski. It won the Golden Palm, the top award at the Cannes Film Festival. The film was based on the book by Wladyslaw Szpilman. Music composed by Wojciech Kilar. The Pianist starts out in Wasraw in 1939. The main character is Wladyslaw Szpilman (Arien Brody) a gifted Jew who is specialized in playing Chopin pieces.

Before the second World War he played at live Polish radio. Szpilman's familly has been captured and send to the Warsaw ghetto. Generally film shows a violent and horrifing true account of Warsaw under control of the Nazis. Moreover it was shown the life of Jewish people who were living in the capitaql and the image of warsaw ghetto. Germans were the source of evil. They insidiously made their way into polish society. The right's of Jewish people has been controled by Nazis. although The Pianist in not merely a depiction of suffering; it is also a story of survival. Szpilman was a prisoner and a fugitive, locked inside empty flats where he had been hidden by the underground, having to keep quiet and out of sight and without food. Arien Brody who impersonate to the main character in my view he had created a superb figure. He schould recive award for this play. he played a poor, scared, momonts helplessness person. who just want to live. According the direction and music it was amazing. Polanski portray a dark and terryfing Warsaw. The capital is ful of evil and bestiality, it is actual and real image whit presuade to afterthought about people who had to carry this life.

To sum up The Pianist is definitley not for everyone but for me this film is a powerful acciunt of the Holocaust, this certainly is the best film of the year. Check it out !
