PURPOSE
The purpose of this report is to submit the possible use of a million euro grant that Częstochowa received from the European Union. This proposal suggests several ways of spending the grant according to the present needs of the city and its inhabitants.
RENOVATION OF THE ROADS
As every year after the winter season the roads of the city are in very bad condition, that does not allow to drive safely and may lead to the damage of the cars. Częstochowa City Council has already received several complaints from motorized inhabitants, concerning the request to improve the condition of the city’s roads. In this situation, it is necessary to appropriate a part of the funds for renovation of the roads damaged by this year’s harsh winter.
NEED FOR SWIMMING POOL
Since Częstochowa lacks a huge swimming pool with different attractions, where people in every age could actively spend their time, I would strongly recommend spending a great part of the funds on building such place. It will not only satisfy inhabitants of the city, but also attract tourists from different parts of the country, as another tourist attraction of Częstochowa. This investment is profitable, as some costs will be returned by entry tickets and money spend by new tourists, that will surely visit different parts of the city too.
NEW TRAMLINE
Currently Częstochowa has only two tramlines, which is definitely not enough for the big and developing city. Passengers are not able to get to the different parts of the city by tram, so they have to change a tramway to a bus, which is inconvenient and time-consuming. New tramline should be opened in order to make it possible for unmotorized inhabitants to move easily . What is more, the building and launching of the new tramline will create new workplaces, what follows decrease of unemployment rate.
CONCLUSION
I hope that the plans presented in this report will receive your serious consideration and that
bringing them into effect will bring a number of benefits to Częstochowa. Not only would the inhabitants of the city be pleased by such changes and investments, but also Częstochowa would become a better and more modernized city.
