Hej, czy mógłby mi ktoś wytłumaczyć, dlaczego w tych zdaniach zostały użyte takie, a nie inne czasy?
"Last week, I ran into an ex-girlfriend of mine.
We hadn't seen each other in years, and
both of us had changed a great deal. I enjoyed talking to her so much that I asked her out on a date. We are getting together tonight for dinner."
Past Perfect (dlaczego?)
"By the time I got to the office, the meeting had already begun without me.
My boss was furious with me and
I was fired."
Past Simple (a czemu nie Present Perfect - "I have been fired"?)
"When
Jack entered the room,
I didn't recognize him because he had lost so much weight and grown a beard. He looked totally different!"
Past Simple (a czemu nie Past Perfect jak w drugiej części zdania?)
"I have never visited Africa, but I have traveled to South America several times. The last time
I went to South America,
I visited Brazil and Peru.
I spent two weeks in the Amazon,
hiked for a week near Machu Picchu, and
flew over the Nazca Lines."
Past Simple (w pierwszej części zdania jest użyty Present Perfect, chyba dlatego, że podmiot mówi o swoich doświadczeniach, ale w drugiej części też o nich opowiada, ale już czas jest inny)
Stinson is a fantastic writer.
He has written ten very creative short stories in the last year. One day, he'll be as famous as Hemingway.
Present Perfect (czemu nie Past Simple? dlatego, że jest "in the last year" -
unfinished time word?)
This mountain has never been climbed by anyone.
Several mountaineers have tried to reach the top, but
nobody has ever succeeded. The climb is extremely difficult and
many people have died trying to reach the summit.
Present Perfect (dlaczego?)
Z góry dziękuję za każdą pomoc! :)
