Prawidłowo w stronie biernej powinno być: The shop is opened.

Ale mówi się: The shop is open.

Na czym polega różnica?

Dlatego, ze ludzie nie maja swiadomosci ze to powinno byc...the shop is open for business...nikt przeciez nie powie...... the shop is opened for business....

the shop opens a7 8 a.m. = the shop is opened by the shopkeeper at 8 a.m.
the shop closes at 7 p.m. = the shop is closed by the shopkeeper at 7 p.m.
the shop is open between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
the shop is closed between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. the following day.

is opened odnosi sie tylko do momentu otwierania, chodzi o czynnosc 'jest otwierany' - ale przede wszystkim w takich zdaniach uzywa sie 'opens', tzn. 'otwiera sie'
is open odnosi sie do stanu 'bycia otwartym', open to przymiotnik. Taki przymiotnik nie wyraża czynności.
closed ma dwa znaczenia: formy biernej czasownika oraz przymiotnika
