Warehouse is a workplace which should shall comply with the requirements relevant standards health and safety at work. However due to considering its function, it is necessary to ensure appropriate conditions allowing to storage in a safe way different freight. Present thesis presents fundamental safety issues in warehouses. First part of this thesis it was devoted to basic requirements construction and hygienic storage capacity. It includes guidelines on ventilation, lighting, heating and the requirements for facilities, premises and roads storage. In this thesis in second chapter was raised also organization of safe storage and warehouse freight. It defines requirements for storage facilities and the types of storage facilities in the manual and mechanized system and in particular all types of shelving. Also raised issue of optional equipment increasing safety of equipment and the way and frequency periodical control and review technical condition. Part three, describes fundamental safety principles regarding manual motor transport. This part included rules on safe exercise of those jobs, types of auxiliary equipment and the most commonly committed mistakes by employees. Furthermore, in chapter described technique of safe lift weights and shown maximum weight of freight moved manually. In the next part whereas take into account all requirements relating to motor transport in particular regarding pallet, their technical documentation, qualifications and allowances operators as well as their basic duties. It was also noted for forbidden activities workers and the issue of supervision on employees engaged relating to the motor transport. Additionally in thesis take into account basic rules of fire protection at the storage facilities, technical safeguards against such this risks and brief description of safety fire instruction. Also presented example graphic symbols as regards to evacuation and fire protection, their meaning and use. Last part describes example of work safety risks in warehouse and tackling these risks. Presented three types the most commonly existing risks, first related to stored products, another one generated by storage devices and those caused by employees. Furthermore in this part been mentioned issue of risk assessment and has been presented illustrative risk assessment card in position on stock boy.
