W kazdym zdaniu przeksztalconym musi sie znalezc slowko z nawiasu.

(as) Susan doesn't have as much money as John.

2. Where would you prefer to go for supper?
(rather) Where would you rather go for supper?

3. Jim and I bought three shirts each.
(many) I bought as many shirts as Jim. (nie jestem tego pewny :/)

4. I would rather play tennis than squash.
(to) I would prefer to play tennis than squash.

5. I didn't expext it to cost so much.
(than) It cost so much more than I expected.

6. That design is not as good as this one.
(than) This design is better than that one.

TE, KTORYCH NIE UMIALEM:

(twice) It took them ....... it took us to finish.

4. This is the fastest he can run.

Prosilbym o sprawdzenie pozywszych i pomoc w tych.
gramma........hrhr
gotta check myself:D

. If you practise, you will get better.
>(the) The more ...... will get.

THe more you practise the better score you will get

This route is quicker than that one.
>(so) That route ...... this one.

That route is so much longer than this one.

We finished in half the time they took.
>(twice) It took them ....... it took us to finish

It took them as twice as much as it took us to finish.

This is the fastest he can run.
>(any) He can't ...... this.

he can't run any faster than this.

...you practise the better you .....
...isn't so quick as....
...twice as much as
...run any faster than

w trzecim o jedno 'as' za dużo
It took them as twice as much as it took us to finish.

ups, I exaggerated, just noticed - gotta check what I write next time:D!!

without the first as...........

>THe more you practise the better score you will get

Score - not necessarily!
1. John has more money than Susan.
(as) Susan doesn't have as much money as John.
OK
2. Where would you prefer to go for supper?
(rather) Where would you rather go for supper?
OK
3. Jim and I bought three shirts each.
(many) I bought as many shirts as Jim. (nie jestem tego pewny :/)
OK
4. I would rather play tennis than squash.
I PREFER PLAYING TENNIS TO SQUASH.

5. I didn't expext it to cost so much.
(than) It costS (bez SO) much (bez "much" też by mogło być) more than I expected.

6. That design is not as good as this one.
(than) This design is better than that one.
OK

TE, KTORYCH NIE UMIALEM:

1. If you practise, you will get better.
(the) The more YOU PRACTISE THE BETTER YOU will get.

2. This route is quicker than that one.
(so) That route IS NOT SO QUICK AS this one.

3. We finished in half the time they took.
(twice) It took them AS MUCH TIME AS it took us to finish.

4. This is the fastest he can run.
(any) He can't RUN ANY FASTER THAN this.
I wasn't quick enough to correct myself cause you were quicker!!
It's not because I don't know but because I don't check what I write:D

Keep it smile!!
>5. I didn't expext it to cost so much.
>(than) It costS (bez SO) much (bez "much" też by mogło być) more than
>I expected.

so...you make mistakes.
happens.
We finished in half the time they took.
>(twice) It took them AS MUCH TIME AS it took us to finish.

Nope Magdalene - you gotta use (twice)

Anyway, if you're here:D could you take a look at following:

I had better go to the dentist's soon
It's.................................

My versions:

It's high time I went to the dentist's. - is it correct, any alternatives?

I can hardly sleep

(Virtually) I can't virtually sleep - correct? any alternatives?
I was thinking about "twice"... ;), but I've forgotten to write it :)
It took them TWICE AS MUCH TIME AS it took us to finish.

It's high time I went to the dentist's.
I can't virtually sleep.

Both are perfect :)
Both are perfect :)

Are any alternatives acceptable?
I was puzzling over some tests on the http://www.bellschools.pl/t_advanced.html
and the key doesn't accept that answers - don't know why!!
I virtually can't sleep - that sounds better

as for 1
It's (high/about) time I went... -try one of these, but i can't see why "high time I went" would not be accepted.
other alternatives
"...saw the dentist", "...went to see...",
or
I can't get virtually any sleep
>I can't get virtually any sleep
that looks nice :)

merix, I cannot see those examples on the website.
>>I can't get virtually any sleep
>that looks nice

Nice? That's sadistic!
>Nice? That's sadistic!
I can see its internal beauty ;)
Oh well, you win.
>I can't virtually sleep.
>
>Both are perfect :)

>I can't virtually sleep//>I virtually can't sleep.

Either one is virtual bushwa.
why?
>why?

Can you or can you not?
I can't.
I can't practically (virtually) sleep. = I can hardly sleep.

I don't see any nonsese here.
*nonsense

1. Gdybym się sprężyła to juz dawno mialabym pracę.
If I had pulled myself together, I would have had a job long time ago.

A które okresy Wam tutaj pasują?

mix 3+2 ok
gdybys wtedy mnie zapytala, teraz moglabym pomoc
>merix, I cannot see those examples on the website.

How come? They should be there!!
>I don't check what I write:D

That goes without saying.
http://www.englishjet.com/english_courses_files/test_advanced.asp

Sorx, I gave you the other one!!
The Above is correct - take a look !!
Do you know any other websites with advanced or at/of CPE level gramma??

Najbardziej mi odpowiada: It's high time I went to the dentist's.

6. They had to wait 2 hours before the meeting began
Only after a... - nie mam na to pomysłu

8. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't answer the question
Try...

9. It makes no difference if the play is full booked, we will still try to get a ticket
We will still try and get a ticket... (even if the play is full booked.)

W kolejnym zadaniu trzeba przekształcić zdania z użyciem podanego słowa:
13. He is certainly not rich (MEAN)
16. He can hardly sleep (VIRTUALLY) - żadne z wcześniej zaproponowanych nie jest poprawne zdaniem tego kto układał test.
takie jeszcze mam:
He is virtually unable to sleep.
ale też nie pasuje ;/
kto to układał w ogóle???
