What's your favourite English radio station?

Xfm- The UK's New Music Radio Station

I am a faithful fan of the BBC. I used to listen to Radio 1, but now I switch mainly between Radio 4 and World Service.

i also listen to World Service but it seems to not work right now(for 2 days already) :(. Can you confirm this ?

I listen to it through the internet and everything seems fine now. I also catch World Service on my radio (in Warsaw), but the reception isn't perfect.

i mean World Service on bbc.com. But radio 4 works perfectly.

At my work I like to listen to magic radio. www.magicradio.com
It works on my computer which is a big advantage and the music is quite plesant.

XFM - good radio. I have 140 stations on my computer.

There was an interesting show on Virgin Radio 2-3 years ago - Jezza's Virgin Confessions (or something). I think it's off-air now.

if you like to listen to english radio stations i advise you to download 'RealOnePlayer' - a program through which you can listen to loads or different radio stations. :)

An english broadcast , only talk and news , no music. You can easily improve your comprehensive abilities by listening to this. Its cool

I think the only radio I had chance to listen little longer is vibe fm http://www.vibefm.co.uk. Their music is kinda like our radio eska, but without any aggresive music.. You know what I'm writing about.. umcyk umcyk.. brr. I discovered this radio when I was in Cambridge for 3 months.. I remember this time very good, so that's why exactly this radio.. :D

Not "vibe fm", but "vibes fm". I found this station in London at 9th July 2005, in Somerset Roland Gardens 4-star hotel. Frequency 93.8 FM. But I want BBC World Service. I'm setting 648 MW and radio is not available! In London? SCANDAL! Frequency is correct! Another scandal in hotel - I want BBC News 24 (UK version of BBC World). Channel is not available (Only BBC One, BBC Two, ITV 1, Channel Four, Five, Sky One, Sky News, Discovery Channel and Paramount Comedy).

Have You heard about radio programs on demand called podcasts. I was suspicious a bit at beginning. But unnecessarily, because it's really cool thing, which lets you to listen what you want and when you want. To use it you need to have a small program which downlads mp3 podcast. I use program called Juice (http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/) and then just need to feed it by giving address from websites with podcasts. Lot of interesing podcast can be found on Scince Friday (http://www.sciencefriday.com) or Australian Broadcast Corporation (http://abc.net.au) or http://www.npr.org

Ok guys, I`d also like to listen to some radio online, but it seems that all of them don`t really work. What I get is such information: Please Note: Due to new licencing laws we can no longer offer our radio station listen live streams outside of the UK. Sorry! Is there any I could listen to being in Poland? I also wish it wasn`t so complicated, as my computer skills are rather on a basic level

New laws - some stations doesn't work outside the UK, but...
Capital FM - There's also note "not available outside the UK", bur you can launch the station from www.delicast.com! Station is available worldwide from this website. Or launch the player on www.capitalfm.com, enter this code: WC2H 7LA, and station will be launched! Also available worldwide!
Capital Gold - the same.
Kiss 100 - not available
Magic Rafio - not available
London's Heart - not available
BBC - all stations available
Virgin Radio - all four stations available.
