Nobody expected as big success as this movie achieved. Team which created it won 49 prizes and 3 nominations to Oscars. It’s not a story about fame, money and perfect people. It’s story about power of dreams which can come true in spite of obstacles.
The main character in “Billy Elliot” is Billy. He’s 11-year old boy lives in North part of England. His mother died and he’s in the hands of his determined father and older brother who’s not on good with him. The action takes time in 1980s and focus on bad position of miners. Industrial actions make that Billy’s father and brother haven’t got enough money and time to boy. He’s lonely and his only activity is boxing which he doesn’t like but his dad does. One day after the training Billy notices ballet lessons… and in those day everything has changed…
Incredible acting of Jamie Bell and others connected with popular British music makes that everybody can’t take eyes of “Billy Elliot”.
