Abstract
The aim of this work was to discuss progress in discovering the structure and function of DNA through ages. I presented the most important and most outstanding of experiments and peoples whose research contributed significantly to the development of genetics. I described achievements since the first isolation of DNA from the cell, to describe its structure and sequencing methods. Additionally, shown the steps to accept DNA as genetic material.
