Location:
Our school is located in Krosno in a quiet place on Krakowska street no. 1, next to a beautiful park. Krosno is located in south-east Poland. It is an economic, scientific and cultural center of southeastern Poland and the capital of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. The advantage of the school is a safe and attractive location of the park, away from the busy streets with convenient access from any point of the city.
A few words about our school:
The school was established in 1971, and has a long tradition. After many transformations the school took on its present form. At that time, a number of significant projects raising the conditions of learning were made. Specialized teaching staff maintains
a high level of education and knowledge of the students. Children participate in cultural life of local environment (district, town) actively. Pupils take part in surveys, contests, and school and district sport competitions-even with the nationwide range. They earn numerous prizes, honorable mentions, medals and diplomas.

„School of the future - broadening our students’ interest of art, culture, sport, foreign languages and computer science. School opened to Europe and the whole world, developing highly the activities of our students and educating in the master- student relations for wise, open-minded, warm-hearted and good people”.
School without barriers:
Our school guarantees the possibility of moving without restraint for the disabled: convenient driveway for wheelchair users both inside and outside the school, toilets are designed so as to come up to the needs of the handicapped. There is also a possibility of driving children to school by ZOZ transport for the disabled.
Our school develops students’ interests and abilities through organizing extracurricular activities. There are many interesting additional classes from different categories e.g. art, history, theater, science, gymnastics. Especially robotics classes are very popular.
Robotics:
Our school organizes free classes in robotics, where students build robots from special Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 bricks, and then try to programmed them to perform certain activities. During these classes the students develop their spatial imagination and creativity. They also learn cause and effect thinking, independence and responsibility. These classes also implement programming, develop technical vocabulary and English language, teach teamwork and perseverance in pursuing goals. The students participate in these classes willingly.
Our school participates also in many projects co-financed by European Union. Participation in this projects help students in broadening their interests and developing their abilities. Through the participation in this projects students have an opportunity to level the playing field and increase their motivation and knowledge. Thanks to these projects, our pupils improved language skills by participating in additional English lessons, also with a native speaker from Australia. More than 70 students completed speech therapy, thanks to which they greatly improved their speech as well as reading and writing. They have also a chance to meet famous authors, students also visited the Museum “Dobranocek” and Regional Library.
This year our school organizes two further projects under the eTwinning program. The eTwinning program was designed especially to schools, creating possibility to international cooperation and joint implementation of educational projects for their students. Thanks to these projects the students in interesting way learn foreign languages, improve computer skills and learn about the culture and history of other countries.
Within the project, the students prepared electronic works about the school, region, and national system of education in the English language. The Students established contacts with other students working on a specially prepared website called TwinSpace and participated in discussion forums.
Our school enriches and develops traditional education through using modern methods of working with students and through using innovative educational resources. A huge breakthrough in education is the use of information technology especially e-learning system.
A few years ago our school introduced a modern system of E-learning. This is a new teaching method that through using computers and the Internet complements and enhances traditional teaching. E-learning - "distance learning" is most often associated with online teaching. E-learning is superior to other methods because the center of gravity in the teaching is transferred from the teacher to the student. There is also a realization of the priority of the European Union in the idea of learning for life “Lifelong Learning”. It provides greater availability of education, accustomed to constant self-improvement, and active participation in the information society.
The use of this method in a large extent supports traditional school lessons. In that way we create so-called hybrid learning (Blended learning - a combination of a standard class-lesson system with e-learning) which combines the advantages of traditional teaching and e-learning. This combination minimizes some of the disadvantages of traditional education.
The advantages of e-learning often include flexible working hours and the convenience of students. For students with disabilities or ill, you can create a set of classes to allow learning without attending school. E-learning also facilitates communication between students.
It is also possible to create other types of materials (learning content, tasks, tests) - for students with deficiencies, so that they can complement them outside of lessons and also for outstanding students so that they can develop their skills through additional work.
Another advantage of e-learning is a greater variety of learning through the use of media and non-verbal presentation of the material. E-learning is a kind of individual course and allows you to learn at your own pace and minimize the fear and shyness. This system can also be used to manage the school, to train teachers and to create their own educational courses.
