Nowadays, social networking services are getting more and more popular. They are well-known in the whole world especially among young people. In Poland the most used society portal is the Facebook. It has as many passionate believers as opponents. What are the drawbacks and benefits of such a portal?
First and foremost, the Facebook is a perfect tool to keep contact between you and your friends. It is quick and comfortable to send messages through this service. You may chat with whoever you want, the only thing you have to do is to select the recipient. Secondly, the Facebook is considered as a perfect place to make the acquaintance of somebody. You can easily find a person who shares your interesting and has the same taste as yours. Last but not least, the Facebook contains a lot of varying content. Some of its features may help you at school, while other will make your mood better.
The Facebook has also its disadvantages. Probably the most serious one is the fact, that social networking sites deprive their users of the privacy. Once you upload your photo or post some information, it becomes available to the public. What is more, running your own account takes lots of time. Most users do not take account of the danger of getting addicted to the Facebook. Moreover, browsing the Facebook can be really annoying, thats because of thousands of ads, that will definitely distract you.
In conclusion, Facebook has as many drawbacks as benefits. To my mind, decision if to use it depends on personal preferences.
