Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to you to express my strong dissatisfaction with the quality of your Multilingual Translator software package. I bought it four months ago convinced by your promotional brochure (see enclosed photocopy), which asserted that your 'state-of-art seventh generation fuzzy logic intuitive semantic analysis module' together with the 'robust and highly reliable award-winning patented translation engine' could guarantee 'optimal results comparable with the best human-made translations'.
However, your boastful assurances turned out to be patent nonsense instead. In the hope that the output of your program would require only some minor stylistic changes, I sent it to the best Polish EFL forum. I regret to inform you that I immediately fell victim to undeserved ridicule. Many sentences that impressed me really much, like e.g. "Very well they for me talked to them" and "You would not have there met men chance to get to know surely nor at school, nor the more in disco", were mercilessly categorized as 'beyond any repair'. In fact, I was advised to throw your program away and format the hard disk in case it should survive.
At that time I also realized that your program would not reliably translate even a simple complaint letter about itself, and I consequently felt compelled
to take up an English course. Only today, after three months of extremely diligent learning (which, incidentally, has never been my favourite activity), did I take my courage in both hands and write this letter.
To sum up, I do not intend to hold you financially responsible for my English course, which might prove useful in the future, but I still do request a full refund of the purchase price. I could also consider a partial refund provided that you offer me a lifetime free upgrade of your program. I sincerely hope that it will be of some use in twenty years' time, or even earlier if you employ better programmers.
