J: Why are you late? I got here at 7.30 and it's now nine 'o'cocl' (o'clock).
S: I (had to finish) my French homework.
J: You mean, the project on life in France? You (didn't have to
finish) it tonight. We don't have to hand it in until Monday.
S: Then I (had to 'walk' TALK to) Josie.
J: Why (did} you (have to TALK TO) Josie? You saw her at school today.
S: Because I (had to ask) her about her French homework. And we (had
to 'talk' DECIDE) 'wihich' (which) film to go to tomorrow night.
J: Oh, yes very important.
S: Then I (had to walk) here.
J: Why (did) you (have to- WALK)? What's wrong with the bus?
S: I had to (tutaj cos brakuje...STOP AT) Maria's house on the way.
J: Because you (had to talk) to her about film, too?
S: Yes, I had to, actually. DOn't be angry Joe.
J:. I'm not angry. But try to be on time next time. It's not much to
ask.
