The present study was conducted to examine social function of autobiographical memory. This research addresses a specific case of this function – its influence on listener unknown to the speaker. In the theoretical part of this paper are presented data relating to people perception and autobiographical memory and its function, especially its social function. Then hypothesis relating to impact of recalling autobiographical memory on evaluation of experimenter and influence of personality characteristics on activity of social function of autobiographical memory will be verified. The result suggest that listening to autobiographical memory have impact on evaluation of the speaker, however it doesn’t produce increase of intimacy. Research fail to give unambiguous results concerning impact of personality characteristics on activity of discussed function.

The resultS suggest that WHILE listening to autobiographical memory haS AN impact on THE evaluation of the speaker, it doesn't increase intimacy. THE STUDY DOES NOT PROVIDE unambiguous results concerning THE impact of personality characteristics on THE activity of THE function UNDER STUDY.
