It happened on one of first summer holidays that I have spent with my cousin at grandparent’s’ house. All mess had started at a dinner. Having behaved in an unacceptable way during it, we were punished by grandfather. The punishment was truly severe, a one-day ban for watching TV. Having been feeling unfairly chastise, our forming evil-minds came up with an utterly cruel idea of digging a pitfall, to get our revenge on him. Ensuring that grandparents went for afternoon nap, we started to move ahead with our plan. While my cousin was looking for a suitable spade, I chose a place in front of shed’s door for the trap. Knowing that there isn’t a plenty of time, we divided the work between us; I was mining with the shovel whereas my cousin was taking soil out. As the time moves on, the hole was growing deeper and deeper. Everything went OK, when suddenly I hit my cousin on the head with the spade. Within seconds, garden was full of his shrieks and sobs, which unfortunately awaken the grandfather, who extended the ban for 3 days.
It was a clear, spring morning, when I and my beloved parents went to the church for a Sunday service. Of course, before the mass, I had promised them that I will behave in a proper and mature way, whatever it means. As I was 5 years old then, I didn’t understand anything about it so I got really bored. Looking at the people, I noticed another young kid with amazingly red hair. Forgetting about my vow, I shrieked excitingly: ‘Mum, Dad, look! This boy is looking like a squirrel.’ The whole church started to laugh, whereas my parents went red as a beetroot. I thought that everyone likes me and honestly, I didn’t have a faintest idea why within seconds, we were outside the building.
