Hello everybody. Welcome to _________________. As you probably know, there are Foreign Language Days in our school. Each one of you learns English longer or shorter. So today we want to tell you something about this language and Britain. We hope that you will take an active part in our project.

We believe there is no need to explain to you that the importance of English in today’s world is beyond question. However, we’ll give some numbers to convince those who doubt the fact.
According to research by the British Council, “English has official or special status in at least 75 countries with a total population of over 2 billion.
English is spoken as a native language by around 375 million and as a second language by equal amount of speakers in the world.
Around 750 million people are believed to speak English as a foreign language.
One out of four of the world's population speaks English to some level of competence. Demand from the other three-quarters is increasing.
To illustrate you the actual usefulness of this language in everyday life we invite/are inviting you to a short scene „Pole in New York”, which is modeled on the Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju sketch.
The place of the action of our skit were United States where the current official language is English. However, it derived from Great Britain. We are inviting you to the slideshow about the country which now is the sixth economy in the world and then a quiz about it.
As everybody knows, United States and Great Britain are famous for music industry. Anyway, English is so popular that most of popular bands and artists, not always British, produce songs in English. Owning to this fact songs have a chance to gain a wider audience. So at the end we are offering you music competition.
Each one of you HAVE BEEN learnING English FOR longer or shorter.
However, we’ll give some numbers to convince those who STILL doubt the fact.
