Lovesick teeneger snatched from cliff
A lovesick teenager, threatening to jump seventy feet from
- cliffs at
a seaside resort, was saved by
a human chain of
a policemany today.
The eighteen year-old had driven from his home in
- Lake District to Langhorn, near
- Bournemouth, to talk his girlfriend out of breaking off their three-month romance.
He threatened to jump off
the balcony at her house, but when she dialled
- 999 he dashed to
the edge of
the cliffs below
- Metropole hotel.
The police found him sitting on
the edge. They chatted to him for twenty minutes in

He was later released after
- treatment by
a hospital doctor. The police spokesman said, 'there was
a high wind, it was pitch dark at about 2 a.m., and
- grass on
the cliff top was wet and slippery. It was
