I've been struggling with descriptive grammar for over two years of my study and when it comes to the comprehension test I feel like a novice...
I would be grateful if any of you could give me a hand...
What I mean is to help me solve troublesome question connected with DG.
1. a word-form and a lexeme are similar like... ? like what? an allomorph and a morpheme?
2. function of the adverb in " he was quite right " is... a modifier of an adjective or modifier of an adverb?
Should we treat this "right" as an adjective? or as an "FLAT ADVERB"?
3. "After making the salad", he served it to the guests. The sentence in inverted commas is a syntactic... conjunct?
4. "She disbelieves in what they say" is...? Prepositional Comp. in a form of a clause?
5. "He gave me something nice" is...? usage of an postponed adjective "nice" ?Same as "attonerney general?"
