The company, which has been drilling for oil in the area since 1990, found small amounts of oil near Swansea las month, and since then has been discovering larger amounts under the seabed nearby. Last year the government lent over $5[tel]to BOC and gave.permission for the company to build an oil rafinery and other facilities. The reaction of local people to today's news has been mixed so far. Local MPs has already welcomed the news,pointing out that the oil industry will bring badly needed jobs. But local residents are worried about the pollution.
