If-clause + ... nothing :)

To nie pierwszy raz kiedy widzę zdanię rozpoczynające się od if po którym jakby nie było drugiej części - przynajmniej tak mi się wydaje :)

Jest to początek rozdziału więc nie ma szerszego kontekstu:

'Is there a qualification to be awarded?

If there is a qualification, that will both determine at least some of the content of your intervention and may also raise its status in the eyes of participants. However, it is important to at least 'personalize' the intervention so that ...'

Rozumiem to tak, że fragment 'that will both ... eyes of participants' jest relative clause, mamy conditional clause z if, ale nie ma main clause.

Chyba rozumiem. To nie może być relative clause ponieważ byłoby niegramatyczne, tzn:

If there is a qualification, that will both determine [...] and ?may [...] raise ...
may nie pasowałby, zgadza się?

Nie, i tak nie pasuje :) Widzę tutaj takie możliwości:

That will both determine ... and may raise ...
albo
That will both determine ... and [that] may raise ...

gdyby to byl relative clause, to byloby niegramatyczne, bo nie byloby drugiej czesci zdania (spelnienie warunku)
wiec interpretowalbym that = the fact that there's a qualification
trzyma sie to kupy? bo ty znasz kontekst

Tak, ma to sens, znaczenie jest klarowne i pasuje do kontekstu.

Jednakże, nawet nie biorąc pod uwagę tego if-clause, to zdanie:
That will both determine at least some of the content of your intervention and may also raise its status in the eyes of participants.
wydaje mi się błędne. Nie pasuje mi albo may albo both.

that jest podmiotem
that nie moze wprowadzac relative clause, bo tam jest przecinek. Przed that nie stawia sie przedinkow w tym znaczeniu.
tak, autor cos pokrecil z both, przedobrzyl :-)

chodzi o to, ze 'both' powinno sie odnosic do dwoch takich samych konstrukcji gramatycznych, a tu mamy 'will' i 'may'? Zwykle tak, ale widzę podobne zdania w googlach, wiec mysle, ze jest ok.
