"Our Grandmother" is the book written by Ilse Kleberg. It came out in 1992. It was published by WILGA.

The main character is Benjamin, young man about fourteen years old. He has many problems. His mother died when he was ten and he live with his father, who is a drunk, and younger sister Bellie. After a year from death Benjamin's mother, the father die too. It is a terible time for Benjamin. He has to take care his sister but it is not easy. Benjamin don't want go to the orphanage. He is prepare for the escape because he knows that he could be separated with his sister if she will be adopted. However, one day it appears a hope. Benjamin receives a latter from him grandmother. He nerver seen her. Who is she? Where is she live? How is she look? And why she didn't write never before? The mystery is going to unravel because... the Benjamin's grandmother wants to adopt them...

The novel written by Ilse Kleberg is a beautiful and simple story. There are described a many problems which concerned a lot of people. The book contains vivid discriptions of the characters. So we meet here an irresponsible father, a child, who has to grown up after its mother's death, and an old lady - the person which looks for understanding and love. Even though this book is for children the adults should read this book too. This is very valuable story.

This book is well written. It is worth to reading you will can not put it down. I thoroughly recommened this book. It shows that every human can change into bad turn good man if we give him a helpfull hand.
