Może mi ktoś wytłumaczyć dlaczego jest "the Earth" a reszta planet nie ma przedimka? :)

We spent our holiday at a nice hotel near the River Thames.

a jakby było zdanie: "We spent our holiday at ....nice hotel, which was near the River Thames." to przed 'nice hotel' byłoby 'the'?

Jako planeta, nie ma przedimka i piszemy z wielkiej litery
Jako globe np 'the earth is warming up', nie.
W książkach spotyka się z i bez.

Well-behaved proper names do not need "the." Some not so well-behaved need it though. The upper case Earth does not.
The article "a" often presupposes the existence of other entities of the type in questions, but this one does not; this one says to the addressee "you don't care to know which one, because it is not important to you right now."
