Would you care to elaborate?
1. The verb "stress" wants desperately to remain transitive, and that's what normal people want. (One can feel, be, get stressed out)
2. What role does "help" play in "I can't help but + bare infinitive?"
If it's the role of "prevent" or "avoid," "but" doesn't belong here. If something else is meant by "help," I haven't a clue what it could be.
3. "But" can signal a contradiction, but here no contradiction in fact arrives.
