Nowadays massive tourism is a very popular phenomenon. More and more people decide go to the most popular cities in the world to spend there their holiday. For the local people it has both advantages and disadvantages.
Firstly, the tourists bring much money to the city. If they arrive to the town obviously thinh is that they must pay for accommodation and food. And if tourists don't have their own transport they also pay for the municipal transport services.
Moreover, thanks to tourism, many people find out an employment, e.g. as a seller on a stand with holiday makers. Tourists always buy many souvenires. Although it's usually only seasonal work, it's very profitable and brings high gains.
Furthermore, thanks to money bring by the tourists is possible the development of the region, e.g. tourist city build new museums or gallery, what attract more and more tourists.
On the other hand massive tourism causes the destructionof the environment, e.g. many tourists drop litters in the streets or on the beaches.
What's more, massive tourism cause more car accidents. Tourists usually exceed the speed limit and they aren't careful. In the streets also form the traffic jams, which are big difficulty for the local people, who hurry to the work.
In addition, massive turism attracts many cheats and drug dealers. In places, where are big clusters of people, automatically they appear and do illegal interests. Thieves also make use of this situation and rob many people.
All things considered, massive tourism give local communities many opportunities to their growth but it can be also threat for them.
