I'm just revising the grammar from "Advanced Language Practice" (M. Vince) and I have some questions.

1. Which one is more appropriate and why?
a) The band will be performing live in Paris this summer.
b) The band will perform live in Paris this summer.

2. In which situation can I use:
a) You won't have heard the news, of course.
b) You won't hear the news, of course.

3. Why is there "a" in the first sentence and can I use both versions?
a) Chrismtas is on a Tuesday next week.
b) Chrismtas is on Tuesday next week.

4. Why is the whole sentence written in past perfect simple/continuous?
- While I had been talking on the phone, Jummy had escaped.

5. In which situations can I use the form "I didn't used to"? The book says it may be found sometimes.
>1. Which one is more appropriate and why?

>4. Why is the whole sentence written in past perfect
>simple/continuous?
