Designer Drugs
Every time a new technological advance has been made it is widely accepted. Telephone radio, television, the internet, DVD’s and cell phones are the most common technologies. These new technologies have many advantages as well as disadvantages in development such as designer drugs. The world is so widely developed that it has been able to come up with something that works like drugs but really is not. Few other names for designer drugs are: smarts, legal highs and boosters.
Designer drugs have appeared on the Polish market since 2008 like a legal chemical agent in the form of pills, capsule and powder. They entered into the market as plant fertilizers only and began to be abused as drugs. Also, designer drugs could be used as a substitute for illegal drugs like amphetamine, cocaine and many others. Local residents conducted research study to find out if the designer drugs contain illegal drugs substances such as: cocaine or amphetamine. Many teenagers have started to buy designer drugs and abused them frequently. They were cheaper than illegal drugs and easy to buy because was no age limit. Even the youngest children could buy it .These drugs loosen up people, calm them down, relax and excite them. The legal drugs from day to day became more and more popular on the market.
A recent phenomenon showed that within two years hundreds of shops with designer drugs were opened in Poland. The result of this created new job opening within the Polish society. The media such as the internet, television and radio promoted designer drugs. People who bought designer drugs were able to save money because designer drugs were cheaper than real drugs. Drug dealers didn’t sell as many drugs as they did before the introduction of designer drugs. The positive outcome of this was that the amount of designer drugs sold led real drugs deals to bankruptcy.
It hasn’t been illegal to sell designer drugs in stores. Everybody bought that until the moment when problems with designer drugs occurred. Many people did not know that mixing designer drugs: with vodka, cigarettes, coffee or tea could be harmful. Also, mixing designer drugs with stimulants led to illness, pains and sometimes to death. Due to many deaths politicians started an action to forbid the selling of designer drugs. Once they used technology to publicize the problem.
The problems of the twenty first century have been discussed many times. Many solutions and answers had been found. The media promoted designer drugs at first and later on tried to stop the abuse of these drugs. Generally, new technology spread the use of designer drugs and tried to stop the spread after got out of hand.
