List. Napisany, do sprawdzenia ;)

Witam, napisałem list na jutrzejszy angielski. Nie jestem pewien czy wszędzie jest ok, więc proszę o pomoc. Jeśli coś jest źle proszę o korekte ;)

But I'm fine. Three days ago i started work in ''Starbruck Coffe" in centre of London. I am working in London because my grandmother lives here, and during the holidays I live with her. I work as a waiter. This job isn't prarticularly prestigious, but I need money ! I really don't like this job. Many people don't respect me :( Yesterday one man, hitted me because i gave him wrong drink ... I want give up this work !!! But i don't, because I need money for suit. I need suit because, I will go to the theathre with my new girlfriend next week.

'But' (dlaczego tu jest 'but'?) I'm fine. Three days ago 'i' (duza litera!!!) started work in ''Starbruck 'Coffe' (ortog)" in (cos brak) centre of London.
This job isn't 'prarticularly' (ortog) prestigious, but I need (cos brak) money !
Yesterday one man, 'hitted' (popraw) me because 'i' (popraw i nie rob takich bledow juz) gave him (cos brak) wrong drink ... I want cos brak) give up this work !!! But 'i' (popraw) don't, because I need (cos brak) money for (cos brak) suit. I need (cos brak) suit because, I will 'go' (be going) to the 'theathre' (ortog) with my new girlfriend next week.

Started work to w kontekscie: I start work at 7:00 and finish at 15:00 /czy w BrE inaczej?/

He started work as a lifesaver = he started working = he was taken on/hired etc

I have no the slightest notion of how you speak in the States

terri@ In Britain 'lifesaver' doesn't exist, innit? I've overheard the word watching the telly. I know you use 'lifeguard', that's as plain as the nose on your face.

By the way of digression, my friend's friend is an American man. Do you know what he calls remote contol? Not a zapper - it would be too simple. He calls it channel changer, haha, imagine that!

Zeby sie nie powtarzac, jedno slowo w tym zdaniu zamienil na /imo/ bardziej odpowiednie.

dlatego ja nie pisze przedimkow, bo wiem, ze one sa bardzo trudne do pojecia. Nie mozesz bawic sie w zgadywanego, wiedzac, ze masz na 3 szanse ze to bedzie dobrze. Musisz sie tego nauczyc.
No i dlatego, ze ludzie sa po prostu 'sloppy' w ich wymowach w TV, nikt nie zwraca uwagi gdzie maja byc przedimki. W ksiazkach znajdziesz, ze 1. to ma byc ...in THE centre of London. (i mysle nawet, ze tak ucza w szkolach)

But you never say " I have no THE ( something) idea, right? Or you say I haven't got A...

This has nothing to do with semantics. It’s pure grammar. I’ll parse it ‘formally’ here just in case.
Apart from the fact that it sounds jarring in the first place:
‘No’ here is already a determiner ( a central one like ‘the’ or ‘a’). They’re mutually exclusive, you cannot put them together. They’re in ‘choice relation’, one instead of another but not one following another.
You want to keep a word ‘notion’ there in this phrase? Fine, but ‘the slightest’ must go. Or change it to ‘I don’t have the slightest ....’ ( terri)

Believe me I'm painfully aware it's incorrect. It's a trace from a spoken language I can hear, you can spank me:))). I think I was just dog-tired:), I've been flustered with work of late, I've been behind the schedule;/ because of having my hands full.

Now especially for mummy terri I'II provide you with the answers possible, not just to show off English, but for the sake of peace:)

Sav, guv'nor! The proximity of 'no' and 'the' itself is already like you put it 'jarring'. It's virtually impossible to use of course.

And believe me, it was a ‘very bad trace’, I’m telling you. No native would’ve put it like that even in familiar context ... ..and I mean the native, born and bred, not a naturalized one, no matter if he’s a woodhick from Wyoming or some beefeater from Peterborough.
