mg, jestes pewny co do kolejnosci w #7?. Chyba ze twoje OK odnosi sie do oryginalnej odpowiedzi grudziu/grudzia.

The way I understood him was that the sentence : 'I've given up smoking, as have many of my friends.' was correct. It was a tricky one.

'as have...' jest poprawne, podobnie 'and so have...'

w 7 wystepuje inwersja, stad masz as + operator + podmiot

OK. Jak bysmy dla przykladu zastapili "many of my friends" zaimkiem YOU, bylo by: ...as have you? Jakos nie brzmi dobrze

Hey, if you drop 'so' you will have :
"I've given up smoking, as many of my friends have / as have many of my friens - both fine

there's NO PRONOUN here like' ..as have they, or as have you

'as have they' itp. jest ok w znaczeniu 'and so have they'

I'm talking about S-op inversion in comparative clauses after a correlative ‘as’ where the inverted subject is a personal pronoun. There are examples but they are regarded as marginally accepted.
And it's not ok.

There is an abundance of examples and they are correct.

and what is a comparative clause?
I did that as you did = in the same way as you did (comp. clause?)
I did that as did you = and you did that too (another type of clause?)
