Ah but Kate is from the popular language. Katarzyna is from the beautiful one. So I shall call you Katarzyna. Is Kasiul a diminutive of Katarzyna then? I don't really get the diminutive system in Slavonic languages. Can you explain the rules to me.

The thing is - if there are any rules i don't know them really. I think it's too long history of language and language creation... It's like ksiezyc means moon right now but originally it was priest... So yeah - Katarzyna, diminutives - Kaska, Kasia, Kasiunia, Kasiula,(that's why Kasiul :-) ), Kacha... Much to choose from :-)

There are no rules only the exeptions:))))either you learn it by heart or you must forget about it:)))))

But one rule must be the endings for male and female diminutives. I mean I don't know whether 'normal' is a male or female so I don't know whether to try 'normiulka' or 'normicko' or what.

Normal is definitely a male nick. Try "Normalek".....:))))))))

Normiulka sounds very cute :-) But in Normal's case it cannot be Normiulka... Anyway - are there any rules in creating names in english? I'm afraid not...

New girls came to work today - Japanese. And one is called Wendy (ok) the other YoYo and whenever i see her or have to address her i cannot stop thinking about the popular toy from my childhood or some hip hop stuff - yo bro... It will be over for me if i start giggling... why didn't she named herself somehow safely like Wendy??????? why???????????? why?????????

I like Japanese people, I used to know a girl called Naoko-everyone in Poland kept taking the mickey of her because of her name: na oko she is fine...etc

Ouch i cannot help it!!!! I have nothing against YoYo but i cannot stop my thoughts... Anyway i like Japanese they are very nice people. I simply don't like other Asian nations but maybe just dregs are coming here... anyway i don't like Asians in NZ... In general... Thank heavens i'm not the only one... Just too many of them come here and create second Asia, and government allows that. So in the city centre you have a lot of shops without english lettering...

Kasiul i have't expected that you, a person who seems to be open minded and cute can say something like that, but perhaps i have overestimated you. Haw can you say about other people who you don't know that they are dregs. I think that you are conscious thet other peopel in NZ can tell the same about you. You don't know these people from Asia, you don't know why they are comming to NZ. it is truth thay are a little hermetic but that is they right to it the second reason why they are so is because we don't understand them. Don't forget you are also the guest there like all the people except maorysi. Sorry for my english.

Ok maybe i shouldn't write things like that as long explenation is as usual needed. Anyway the aspect is much wider and... ehm, i'm not talking about all of those people but in according to my experiences with people met by me. Ok maybe some examples... I will try to explain what i meant... I still don't understand for example how can you be in New Zeland for many years, studying, finish university,live your life in NZ and still do not speak english? Furthermore we have here some interesting social group which i call rich children ie kids with rich parents who sponsor their stay in NZ incl uni, house and so on and these kids think the money can buy everything so they can do things like dropping ciggie's butts on my laundry (yep, i used to have neihbours like that). I just grew tired and i really feel offended if i get no response to my how are you or just sthg rude... On few occassions i was called white or european trush... What else???? I could give you more examples but what for? I just crossed the line, i admit but i'm getting too irritated these days as i'm really really tired. And just today had problems with Chinese family who were trying to make a complaint about my performance at work which was just for getting free stay at our hotel. Fortunetaly i had a witness but i ate my nerves horribly. So - to sum up - i don't have nice experiences with some nations from Asia. BUT i believe there are some good people out there amongst them. BUT we can find idiots in other nations as well, cannot say polish nation is 100% wonderful. BUT BUT BUT... I can say i have had as many problems from polish side and asian side in NZ... Anyway - forget it, i will go on my holiday and will get better :-) Of course i am a guest here and i remember that all the time while i have an impression that many of those people don't even realize that...

BTW Maori are guests as well - when they arrived in New Zealand they simply ate original inhabitants :-) So they are assumed to be original inhabitants as they are the ones whose genes are still alive :-) Nobody ate them :-)

Kasiulka! I hope you are just tired, and I will admit that sometimes I have irrational thoughts about race myself, but I am a little dissapointed. I am from Sydney and we have had many waves of immigration in our country in the last 60 years. Every time a new group of immigrants arrives, the last group quickly forgets that they were on the bottom of the ladder a few years back and is quite happy to stick in the boot. However the advantages of immigration are tremendous (and I'm not just talking about the food). I live in Germany and have travelled in Poland and it seems quite clear that these countires are extremely monocultural, and subsequently there is little stimulous except in Berlin. It is not right to expect people to talk English in NZ or Aus and there are rich kids from the United States and England who come to our countries and are more obnoxious than the ciggie chuckers you are talking about. And finally, please don't lump all asians into the same category because if I were to describe you as Russian you wouldn't like it. Learn the difference between a Thai and a Chinese, a Vietnamese and an Indonesian and you will see that they are as different as Spanish and Polish. Now go on holiday and relax and meet some people who aren't like you!

But remember that we are also reckoned to be a foolish nation. We also have a Polish district in USA where many of the people don't speak English at all. Also in Europe we haven't got a good opinion. The Germans say that we are thiefs and slovens. And??? Do you think it is truth??? Then realize that that we are not better especialy in the opinion of other nations.

Ouch just simplyfying. I do remember i am an immmigrant and i will probably die as one... An i am tired :-) Let's just forget this whole thing because ehm i obviously cannot explain what i mean... and it's just one of those days i call KILL THEM ALL... Maybe i should find some ant nest or something... I got used to being reffered as Russian :-) I just couldn't understand in the beginning why all of my coworkers were asking me when i'm going for my holiday to Russia :-) anyway, end of story, mea culpa... For me if i chose to live in other country than mine it's natural to learn at least to communicate... And think why we are seen as thiefs???? Be sincere - are those opinions really out of the blue? Kasiul. I think that you consider people from Asia except Japanessis (because they usualy dont have to go to NZ towork there) as yours competitors on the work market. And you are angry that they are able to earn alot of money. They conduct their own businesses but you don't see how hardly they have to work for they bread. And you are not the person who would do evreything to earn your money, so am i. But you should take into account that not everybady is like you.

Japanese work here as well... And lots of other people as well :-)

we are going to CHCH to visit our friends. It's a bit sad as we thought we meet all of them but many of our friends goes somewhere else or just leaves country... So basically we have few places to visit - which is not as bad after all as it's only 10 days break... I'm going to have a rest and sleep normal hours at last... My back is going to collapse if it will not get a proper rest... I'm just afraid of getting back to work after holiday :-)
